New Fire Station #54 & Police Substation

 A new fire station and police substation is under construction at 9351 S. Hawley Park Road, with a scheduled completion date of spring 2015. The new station will serve as a multi-use facility and will improve delivery of fire services and add a police presence to the area. The station will have the capacity to house seven firefighters and include a 50-seat community/training room.

Construction is Underway

Roofing should be complete by November 25. Exterior doors and windows should all be installed by November 20.
First and second floor framing is mostly complete.
All masonry work is complete. Ductwork is being installed.
Apparatus bays are having trench drains
Apparatus bay concrete should be poured by end of October.
It's starting to look like a fire station.
Masonry walls go up. Underground mechanical, plumbing and electrical is also in progress.

The old fire station was built in 1980 using
volunteers and was not up to current building
codes. The old station was demolished in
February to make way for the new station.
